black monday?

"But Lord! how everybody's looks, and discourse in the street is of death, and nothing else..." samuel pepys diary 30 august 1665__________________________the national debt clock gave the current ( estimated ) u s population as 323,378,302...the new york times maintains there are 595 cases of covis-19 in the country...that number represents .00000183995% of the total population..remember...the media are selling a product...
that said, the cdc claims 423 cases and is showing a map that has only fourteen of the contiguous forty-eight states without a case...they do include at least one case in hawaii...
the n y times map shows hawaii as well but only twelve uninfected states...one presumes fresher numbers...the cdc says "data reported by the states should be considered more up to date"...well...i went to the web site of my state's health department and the "covid-19 more information" link took me to...the cdc...so much for state reporting...
the markets continue to flail about as the fall precipitously...i got a statement from my investment ira today...i know...i know...
the times, my state, and the cdc continue to tell me i am doomed if i touch my face...somewhere in the bowels of that article is a reference to a study that says the "average" person touches their face twenty-three times an hour...okay..i have touched my face "on average" every two minutes and thirty-six seconds all my life and now i am supposed to stop...right..bet no one at the times is touching theirs either...i find it easier to wash my hands often...so the chaos continues...the president may have been exposed...elections primaries may be disrupted...oil is tanking along with the economy as panic set in for an extended stay...there may be good news in some of this...i will leave it to you to ferret out...stay safe...surgical masks are ineffective...hand sanitizer has vanished as a commodity...and if you touch your face you will surely die...chew on that and ponder pepys.
